Not really but if it makes you feel better.
My kids’ private school keeps telling him to not prepare for the PSAT. No one he knows has even registered for SAT yet. He is a junior.

Ok ok. So for the record nobody is trying to do well on the PSAT but the magnets schools are still kicking butt. Got it.

Nobody is saying the magnet school kids aren’t excellent at test taking. It’s your insistence at trying to put down private school kids (who don’t even care about NMSF!) that’s giving us pause.

11 pages thread on NMSF, bragging about how it shows one school is better than all the others and you are telling that private school kids don't care about NMSF?
Sure!

I never understand why public school parents feel the need to troll the private school board and tell us all the problems or shortcomings we/ our kids have.
The private school parents are not trolling the DC public school thread.
It’s weird

The only reason anyone knows is because it was posted in The Patch. Short of that, no one would know. The private school involved didn't make any announcements, and there aren't any accolades shared in school communications or within the school.

It means you have a giant chip on your shoulder.

11 pages of private school operatives claiming Big 3 status or numero uno on the basis of the proportion of NMSF awardees. Significantly very low proportion of each class but inversely proportional to dollars spent on tuition, academic enrichment, year-long and/or summer test prep, with multiple attempts at the PSAT in the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades.

Private school parent at one of the proverbial Big 3 (for transparency)

...pulling their thinning hair out to justify the ROI on their private school education bill minus NMSF awardee status or Big Ivy at the end of the rainbow!

+1 kids go to Potomac and had no idea how many they had, nor do they care how many. I just had to look it up - if patch is correct there are 7 & my kids could care less

If the private schools don’t brag about their paltry NMSF awardees or test scores (or minuscule endowments) what do they ultimately brag about .... lacrosse rankings and their well-heeled Ivy League legacy parents?
