This one was up there for me, but if I have to pick one - I’ll say City of Girls.

If you liked City of Girls ,I recommend the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo !

I did really like that one, too!

I’m 17:14 and this one was up there for me too.

+1, loved it. I also really enjoyed the shadow and bone/six of crows YA series this summer. A fun, easy read.

Huh. I can’t believe I have read the same thing as folks on here, finally. Great premise. I also read Midnight Library which I liked slightly more.

And the other two books (you'll see certain characters appear in all the books) - Malibu Rising but the best one is Daisy Jones and the Six.

Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe. It's nonfiction but is more of a page turner than most fiction books I've read. It's about the Troubles in Northern Ireland.

The Girl with the Louding Voice - such a cool style of writing, heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time.

This is either a love or hate book. I couldn’t finish it.

I really enjoyed the Twiborn Chronicles. There was another one I read right after that but I have to log into amazon to remember the name. But its about a nobleman who becomes king, but doesn't want or think he deserves the throne and then there's somebody else who has always desired the throne but he can't get it because if he does it will be the end of the world. It was a really good read.

The Push, Long Bright River and Girl with the Louding Voice got my 5 star ratings this year.

Racism without Racists. It really helped me understand how my intelligent, caring, educated parents (who are white) could be so insensitive to my husband (who is black) and put nuclear family when it comes to race.

Loved this too, and the audio version is amazing!

Piranesi by Suzanne Collins

Though I really didn't read a lot new in 2021. I'm just so fried and depressed I just reread old books that are comforting and don't require much mental effort.

Of that, what did you enjoy/find comforting?
