MIL and Step-MIL always gossip about me to each other

Try not to care, OP. As you say, they have nothing in common and little going on in their own lives. Consider it a gift you’re giving them! Seriously, don’t let it bother you.

+2. This sounds like pretty standard stuff with some of my family members. You just can’t let it bother you. You won’t change them and attempting to will only feed their need to gossip.
