I was 3.5 cm dilated with my first for a week and a half and 5 cm dilated with my second for 5 days I think. What’s funny is despite all of this my labors were still long. Agree 4.5 doesn't mean anything. I was 4.5cm, lost my mucus plug the night before I assume from breast pumping myself, admitted for an induction the next day and it totally failed. As a 2nd time mom. In another woman it might mean she is hours away from pushing.

If someone has their fingers in there anyway you should have a membrane strip. It lowers the chance for going post dates. If you don't want to be in labor in the next 48 hours declining the cervix check is fine.
