that movie was f'king creepy

I think they should do a remake/spinoff in which the betrayed wife or husband becomes like Alex and attacks the OW/OM and and their family. #metoo in all ...

I'd watch!! Movies/TV always glorify infidelity. The poor sneaky, cheating lovers that can't be together..whahhh. It would be nice for the victims to get representation in a movie for once.

+1 Long Island lolita, and a recent one, I think involved a military spouse or some kind of LEO. Hired a hitman to kill the wife.

This just seems so dumb.

Well off guy, younger not so well off AP…. It’s 18 years of child support and possibly a husband

Statutory child support is nowhere near enough to make this worthwhile.

Ummm, 99.9% of men don't want a future relationship with the AP. They are in it just for the sex.

Reap what you sow? Both parties, correct? That includes the one that knows about a wife/husband and kids and still engages in an affair too...the future will have them reaping what they sow as well. Karma is sweet.

That’s not the point OP asked about APs that go nuts. Presumably an AP wouldn’t go nuts if they were both on the same page (and stayed in the same page) about the likelihood (or rather, non likelihood) of a relationship. To put it differently, if you don’t want your AP to go nuts on you, don’t let your AP get the feels for you lol !

And how do you suppose he does that? Women always get the feels if they are with one person over a length of time. They one way to prevent that is to end it early, don't let it drag on past a month.

Exactly. I've known married women that do that and play the Oops cards. Often because they wanted another child, and/or to keep him tied.

I know of one AP that did that. When his wife threw him out he promptly went to the AP. He wasn't going to pay two women.

It got nasty. When things went sour (maybe ap threatened to tell wife?) married guy threatened to go to ap’s workplace to report other sketchy stuff, so ap took out a restraining order in retaliation. Big mess. I think generally people who cheat already have issues, then they think they get leverage and use it crazily when it goes south.

The census bureau says dads pay over 85% child support in comparison to women. The average payment is between 4-5 hundred.

If one wants a child and the guy has a great job yes it makes sense. Remember it goes by income just like taxes.

Yes I knew a married lady who found out her DH was cheating. Found out who she was then sent herself some sexy underwear. Asked her husband why he sent it in the mail whereby his face turned white. He figured the AP did that. Then a week later she mentioned someone kept calling and hanging up. Long story, but he thought the AP was trying to force h is hand then they had a big fight and blowout. End of AP. The DH was a nervous wreck for sometime, and lost weight. Meanwhile the wife started moving money, and preparing for a divorce once she was in a good place.

Two former coworkers were having an affair. When she ended it, he stalked her, then broke into her house, destroyed her property, stole $25k, and told her husband.

It’s not just women who get crazy.

True. An emotional, snubbed man can do a lot of harm, particularly physically.

I guess that’s why you see advice here to have your AP also married, mutually assured destruction and all that.

This is such stupid advice. AP’s spouse found out and it was total destruction for both families. So now two sets of kids are messed up.

Why would anyone voluntarily engage in any kind of relationship where they had to have mutually assured destruction as their backup plan?
