Failed IVF and FET

OP, when you say your embryos were "tested" do you mean PGT tested, or graded by SGF? I ask since you mention they were "A/A+" which usually means the lab just looked at the cells to see how 'normal' they look. There's a big difference between that and actual chromosomal testing - how they look really means absolutely nothing. I did six rounds of IVF and after first trying with graded embryos we sent the remaining ones out for testing, and the one that finally worked was an ugly looking one ("not at all the one I would have chosen" per my doctor!). And it was made from a 42 year old egg! I was 44 when she was finally born and she is perfect and a delight in every way. As others have said, this is a numbers game...please don't give up hope yet. I definitely agree with others who say don't bother with IUIs, though, keep on with IVF if you want to continue trying. Sending you lots of hope and good wishes for success.

Tested vs. Untested after 40 is a controversial topic and there are threads on this on this forum. SGF pushes for tested but there is a school of thought (Dr. Davis at Cornell) that believes in untested for older women like us in our 40s. IUIs have a really low success rate for our age and are just a waste of time in my opinion. Best of luck!

Thank you!
Waiting to hear back from the financial counselor if we can go in for another round.

I’m so sorry. At 43, I’m in the same boat as you. Take care of yourself. I hope it works out in the end.

Thank you for your encouraging words! And for sharing your experience
They were not PGT tested, so I'd say they were graded by SGF

Thank you! And good luck to you too, if you are still trying

Doing shared risk and have two rounds of IVF under our belt so far with no viable embryos. Doctor says that sometimes it just doesn't work out and there isn't a reason why (other than age - I am 40), which isn't what you want to hear, I am sure, but it may be comforting to know you aren't alone. Thinking of you.

Oh thank you! I know it sounds callous but I'm glad I'm not walking this path alone. Good luck to you!

I'm going to look up SGF's shared risk while waiting for the doctor's call.

Thank you!
I'm going to look up Dr Davis too.
