Good tv shows for 9 year old that aren’t complete garbage?

Noooooooo. Don’t do this OP, this person is setting you up for failure. I love this show, the movie, and Wellington Paranormal, but the sexual content and gore is way too much for 9.

I love Ted Lasso but would not show to kids bc sexual content and sheer number of f bombs by Roy Kent (great character though).

Netflix has good shows like Inbestigators, Who Was Show, and Carmen Sandiego. Mysterious Benedict Society is good on Disney+ especially if your kid loves books

Is the mysterious Benedict society show as dark as the books? Scary for a sensitive kid?

Mine are 8 and 10 and love Disney+ as well--faves are Mighty Ducks, Turner and Hooch, Mandalorian, the new Monsters, Inc. cartoon. They like competition shows like MasterChef Jr., The Floor is Lava and Legomasters. They also like game shows--we watch Press Your Luck and $100,000 Pyramid and they love that (which shocks me). We've gone back to shows that we watched when we were kids--some they like, some they don't but they love Alf and they loved Malcolm in the Middle and The Simpsons (though not so much on the good values with those two). The Wonder Years was not as much of a hit but they love to watch The Brady Bunch and Leave it to Beaver at my parents house so you never know!

Yeah this. I was rewatching the first season of Ted Lasso and thought about letting my kid join me. But pretty early in the first episode Rebecca says about her ex: "I want him to feel like he’s going to be f**ed in the a** with a splintered cricket bat, just in and out, over and over, in a constant loop. Like a GIF." (and then there's a whole conversation about whether it's pronounced like a "g" or a "j" - I was laughing so hard). But that line made me remember that it is not at all appropriate for a 9 year old.
