| How do Hyundai and Kia compare? |
| We are obsessed with our Hyundai Palisade, which is more car than you want but it’s made is super obsessed with Hyundais |
We have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and really like it. The only major maintenance issue is that something broke with the AC and we had to fix it. It was about $500. That was when the car was already 7 years old. We don't drive it much -- we commute by train -- but on the flip side it's lived all its life outside, no garage, and most driving is on city streets. We haven't owned any other cars so I don't have much to compare it to, but I'd buy one again. Though when it dies, we may get a larger car if we need it for kids' sports or whatever reason people buy SUVs. (I don't like SUVs but everyone keeps telling me I will change my mind when the kids are older!) |
| I love my Hyundai Santa Fe. Eleven years with zero problems. |
I kept reading stuff like this and bought a 2013 Santa Fe and it’s weird. Kind of clunky/jerky acceleration and bumpy turns. Dealership said nothing is wrong so I don’t know what to think. But it reminds me of my high school ride: a 20 yr old Buick Skylark |
| Read about the Hyundai N line. |

Hyundai screams low-class. If you want people to think you’re poor, or have terrible credit, then get a Hyundai.
If that’s not the image you want to show the world, look for an older BMW or Mercedes. For the same money as a new Hyundai you can probably get a 2010’s BMW or MB. Seems like a no-brainer to me. |
| My last 3 cars have been hyundais, two Elantras and my current Kona. The Kona's rear legroom is not what I'd like, but we're empty nesters and don't really have passengers any more and we use the trunk mostly. I drove my Elantras into the ground and had no troubles that weren't my own fault. I love Hyundais. |
LOL Are you 70years old? |
No. But I’m old enough to understand things like class. |
| Bought the Kona electric and could not be happier with it. Such a fun car to drive. |
There's nothing classy about judging people by their cars, and there's nothing classy about paying more money to maintain an out-of-warranty German car. |
Also nothing classy about sitting at the mechanic waiting for expensive repairs on your musty old Beemer. |
| I am obsessed with my 2022 Telluride. I absolutely love it. It is so much fun to drive. It is huge though. |
Funny, nothing screams poor (and poor decision maker) quite like a 10 year old S class or 7 series that the owner clearly (and usually audibly) can’t afford to maintain |
