Why is he well respected? Dc United Academy is a joke.
NP. It’s an overstatement to say that DC United’s academy is a joke given that many great players and good coaches have cycled through there. The problem is that the DCU ownership doesn’t make the academy a priority. They underfund it and pay their coaches poorly, so there is constant turnover. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Dave Sanford, who I think did what he could with the resources he had.
Yup. The ownership absolutely destroyed the academy with their massive budget cuts, and the idiotic decision to move it out to Loudon, which is simply impossible to get to for many.
Really? Is that permanent, or just until they finish building everything at Loudon? |
| only told about this season so far |
Why would Sanford step in and consider an immediate merge? From the looks of it, Gunston has as many or more travel teams than LMVSC and likely more on the Rec side too. Even though Gunston did not have full time leadership, they seem to have done well. I'm excited to see what DS will do, as a well organized club may well be what is needed in the southeastern part of Fairfax County. |
