OSSE guidelines were already updated at the end of June. Public and private schools in DC have to follow those guidelines. Of course none of this is static but don’t act like they haven’t a changed since April.

The chancellor sent an email in the last two weeks saying guidelines would be further updated before the school year starts.

The problem is not the quarantines. Quarantines help stop the spread. The problem is if dcps is not taking advantage of its substantial investment in virtual learning during this year’s quarantine.

More than quarantines, I fear knowing that covid is running rampant in my kid’s school and having to send them anyhow because someone believes in this fiction that the infected child was properly wearing a well fitted mask all day.

How were you able to coordinate this?

On PTA and room parent every year for multiple kids at the school - so I’m close and have rapport with multiple families. And it’s a close knit community.

My kids are “brown,” as you put it 🙄. And don’t worry, there are maybe 5% black and brown kids in the classes impacted my this and all those parents are on board.

Are you this concerned with the DC kids that did from flu every year? More brown kids in DC are vaccinated from Covid than from flu every year. What about your concern of the black kids that are getting killed in DC NOW (not yet)? What is your suggestion? Keep kids out of school forever? I’m not the first PP. I’m the “yet” PP. And YES. I have advocated with my CM to make it easier for DC kids to get the flu shot. Right now it’s ridiculous because you can’t get it for children in a pharmacy meaning it’s harder for parents to get it. And YES I have been screaming about the gun violence and the children who are affected by it - not just this year but every year.

I don’t actually believe you’re a black personality from DC though. You sound like a white ward 3 karen.
