Honors College @UGA

Sorry, but anyone who has to preface their pick with "honors college" already knows the school isn't top ranked

As Texas declared its secession from the Union and joined the Confederate States in 1861, I'd say it counts as "south".

Then you are not from the South.

No one cares so just stop.

UF has passed UNC and arguably UVA in academic quality and now receives the most applications of the three. It's the best and most sought after public university in the South. Granted, national prestige tends to lag a few years behind, but those who are in the know, know. Chomp chomp.

I'm sure being a party school in Florida has nothing to do with it.

Second tier.

Hardly second tier. It is ranked by USNWR above University of Georgia, University of Texas and just a few spots away from Georgia Tech - all listed as top ranked by previous posters. It is arguably a much better school than SLACs like University of Richmond or Washington and Lee.

I think UF is a fine school, but I don't know about this. I'm not from/in the South, though, so maybe you are right and I am just late to the party.

Agree with all the names so far. A tier below but still worth checking out would be Furman and Rhodes.
Georgia Tech is underrated ... lots of really smart kids and professors there.

You’re not late to the party, there’s just a UF booster a foot these days.

Lol maybe in a decade or two Florida booster, in the mean time, focus on making the CFB or beating Alabama.

Acceptance rate of 29% to UVAs and UNC had a rate of 21%. Also Fl has more than double the population as Virginia so yeah you’d expect some more applications.

You're missing UVA, Georgia Tech is WAY too low, and no one cares about Washington & Lee.
