Sometimes. But I look at LOT better than my mother at every age. I avoid the sun like the plague, I didn't get overweight, and I spend money on skincare (no botox yet, though at 44). |
| It basically comes down to how well they’re taking care of their bodies, as well as their appetite for intervention. A woman getting drunk and falling asleep in her makeup past 30 will not look good at 45. A man cultivating his beer gut and tailgating without sunblock at 30 will not look good at 45. |

Good genes are the best predictor of how one will age.
Also race is a big factor & from my experience I have noticed that Black don’t crack and Asian no raisin. Then of course, those that worship the sun 🌞 and smoke anything will almost surely look old by forty-five. Young people who smoke or sunbathe think that they will not care about their looks past forty-five, but trust me you will. |
| My DH's uncle got married when we were in our early 20's and dating. I went to the wedding and was amazed to see just how well generations of the men in his family had aged. 25 years later, the genes are holding up in my DH. |
| Look at ankles. You ever see a fat older lady with skinny ankles? |
| It’s more than just appearance. After 40/45 it’s easier to get hurt / have healthy problems. My spouse and I are 48 and he’s experienced a to d of issues for the past 5-8 years that really impact how active we are as a family and couple. |
Haven’t your ever heard to look at the parents? Age-old advice. |
It might be age-old advice, but that doesn't mean it's accurate at forecasting. Lots of things people used to say are totally wrong. |
| SAdly, I look like my father, and nothing like my beautiful mother, who looks barely five years older than me. |
There are plenty of women who get huge bellies yet retain thin ankles and relatively thin legs. |
