Agree. So obnoxious. Can't believe they are allowed in an indoor arena at the Olympics.

Mute is your friend. Such an odd complaint. I personally like them since there are no fans in the stands.

The constant blowing of the horn is nothing but annoying to me. We have heard it through out the swimming events and have muted the sound so we didn't have to listen to it any more.
I am surprised the networks put up with this annoyance.

What do you propose they do? Not air one of their most popular sports because it annoys a few people ?

Have you ever been to a swim meet? Air horns, cowbells. They’re not quiet.

I don’t like to mute it. I love hearing the announcers talk about the world record, things athletes have said, injuries they’ve overcome, their ages, etc.

Then you put up with the air horns.

Not related to air horns, but I really enjoyed the men's 800 freestyle. Bobby Finke's last lap was phenomenal. He came from way behind and just poured on the gas to win gold.

Sheesh people! The swimmers are used to competing in front of loud cheering fans, and now you want to take away the one semblance of normal competition? I love the air horns bc they are authentic and part of a regular competition.

Same. I didn't hear them the first night and thought it was depressingly quiet.

Swimmers don’t hear the crowd at all while they are swimming. Thr crowd is quiet for all starts. The horn is of no benefit to the swimmers at all.
