TROLL ALERT!!!!!! Arlington smashed SYC 06 boys on the way to winning state, regionals, and now nationals. Look it up.' |
No-brainer for both those reasons. Good grief winning either one or competing in the semis or quarters is a really good achievement for anybody. |
Don’t get why Florida is better than St Louis in July. USYS paying for it is a good reason, but I wouldn’t say no brained. ECNL seems like a higher level. |
Arlington got lucky. SYC dominated the game and ball possession for the first half |
What drugs are you on? SYC lost 1-6 to Arlington in state cup. Then, they lost 1-6 to Arlington again in the ASIST tournament. Both this season. I'd say that is a consistent smashing of SYC by Arlington. Sorry to disrupt your fantasies with facts and reality. Have a good evening. |
Four of those goals were offsides. SYC dominated the ball and don’t play kickball like nasty Arlington |
Final score was SYC 1, Arlington 6. Even if we go with your fantasy about offsides goals Arlington still wins 2-1. But, since Arlington beat SYC 6-1 TWICE last season I'd say that qualifies as a trend that Arlington is clearly a better team. Oh and they just won nationals. So I guess "kickball" works well. |
| The SYC poster has zero credibility with a bunch of items, including the offsides (with an S) comment. But the biggest inaccuracy is saying that this Arlington side plays kickball. Anyone who has seen this team play knows that they build from the back and play a style more akin to Spanish futbol than American soccer. |
Then that is somewhat unique to that team. I have seen the 07 and 08 top teams play and it looked nothing like that whatsoever. |
SYC parent from a different age group familiar with several players on the 06 Arlington team. The are very talented and hardworking. I give all props and congratulations to them for earning the win. Regardless if it was ECNL, MLS Next or USYS, winning a national championship is an accomplishment that should be recognized and celebrated. I'm not a fan of Arlington's recruiting tactics, in particular I think the coach of the 06 team is an arrogant and unprincipled a$$. That said, he wasn't on the field and it was the boys who won the championship. I also agree with a previous poster highlighting the talent in mid-Atlantic region. On the boys side, there are some incredibly strong players and team who routinely compete and win against teams from across the country, to include the "soccer strongholds" of Texas and southern California. It's unfortunate that soccer in the US is so disjointed and splintered by so many different leagues and associations. There's no way of ever determining who the very best teams are because many of the best teams will never play one another. |
Arlington got lucky against SYC and will get smashed next time they play! Arlington is to direct while SYC will knock it around on you |
Who will be coaching the SYC 06' team next season? I hope not Este. He's terrible. He destroyed the 07s MLS Next, an once great team. |
The 07 was never a great team. They have improved, but still can't compete at MLS next level. |
How many felonies would they commit while doing so? |
Agree. The style of play is completely different. I enjoy watching Arlington kids play. SYC kids could do better if they had top notch type of training and less scrimmaging. Please don't blame the kids. ~ SYC Parent |
