Whooptydoo. Sonnett and Sauerbrunn played for UVA and O’Hara and a Swede play for the Spirit.

So a college player who is not playing pro and we are somehow proud of this win.

What a waste
Get Macario in

Macario was unimpressive. Morgan slotted her chance away nicely.

Really … Macario did not impress in her who ping 6 minutes??

Morgan finished weakly on that. And created nothing for anyone else

Rapinoe proud. Me not proud.

As long as Tobin and Rose are on the field we can score

It seems there is style of play difference between the younger(under 30) players and the older players.

The game commentators said New Zealand had not played for 16 months? Wow. I thought New Zealand was okay during the pandemic?

They were strictly locked down. More strict than we can imagine over here.

I know this is Australia, but just an example of a strict* lockdown. There are many Australians who can’t even afford to go back to their country after 17 months.

Weakly? You’re a moron. Two touch solidly into the far corner like you’re taught. Doubt you’ve ever played, Xbox warrior.

I have never played women’s soccer.
Alex’s shot was meh in garbage time
Lavalle 1 time strike was nice
Why was Alex benched until the game was out of hand???

Young Alex: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K29dLjl2Fq0

old Alex: strike and feet stay on ground

Age happens to everyone, it’s not a criticism or weakness just a natural process

The Morgan and Press finishes were excellent for their quick release and accuracy. The men’s team would have tried to take one or two more touches before shooting.

This was like when the Men played Martinique. Everyone looks good when you have lots of time and space. If their quick release and accuracy are excellent where was it against Sweden? They did not get the time and space against Sweden. I thought they would easily win against New Zealand. The Australian game will be interesting. I can see a win, a lost or a draw. The USWNT played some cupcakes leading up to the Olympics and it is hard to get a read on this team.
Now they are going into their third game with 3 days rest. They are old, have lost a step or two and key players are coming back from injuries. When a player comes back from injury they tend to tight up when playing with little rest. So players coming back from recent injuries or pregnancy-Sam Mewis, Lavelle, Heath, Ertz, Lloyd and Morgan. These tournaments are for young players and they did not bring many.

The population of Virginia is almost double New Zealand. Let's not get too excited.
