Thank you for confirming you’ve never played. Morgan’s shot was technically more difficult that Lavalle’s. I am not going to explain to you why, because if you’d ever played you’d understand why intuitively. I did not say Morgan isn’t getting older and less effective, all I said is it was a clinical finish. Now that I know you’re probably in your early 20’s and never played, I get it. Also, I do see you put “women’s” soccer, implying that you might have played with males, but I seriously doubt it. Now get back to your Cheetos and joystick.

Alex Morgan is still the greatest player in the game. Without her during pregnancy the US struggled to stay undefeated. If the Olympics weren’t delayed we would be in much worse shape. When she was benched it was clearly so she could inspire the team by coming in at first sign of trouble. Which never really came so she did not need to come in. She still scored in just a 1/2. That puts her at 1 goal per game pace in the games. She will definitely start now that she has the team back on track. She will play herself into better shape every game and win the golden boot for tournament. No doubt.
Carli Lloyd shoul not be playing just takes minutes from Alex.
Also Horan needs to improve fitness and diet. Word has it Rapinoe will wear red white blue hair in final as her final national stage game , maybe a self marketing ploy but still cool. A special silent demo is set if they win as well but not everyone is on board yet.

I’m not sure Alex ever ascended to greatest player in game status. She is a great player and face of game in US for many.

I think Rapinoe is a genus at marketing. When we go to games most people in the stands can not tell one player from the other but when Rapinoe walks by they get all excited and point to her.

Of the three you mentioned they should have only taken one(two at the most) because of injury, age, declining productivity and Olympic roster size. In the run up Lloyd showed more vs Morgan. Morgan was a non factor against some very low level teams in the run up to the Olympics. Right now the best player is Lavelle. Morgan is not on the list. Without Lavelle I really do not know how the World Cup would have gone. She changes the game with both her defense, offense and play making skills. When she is out of a game the US is lost on offense.

She was a great player but Rapinoe is the face of the USWNT. Rapinoe won the golden boot over Morgan. There was a three way tie. Rapinoe, Morgan and Ellen White had 6 goals. In a tie the gold boot is determined by assists, then by minutes per goal. Rapinoe and Morgan tied in assists with Rapinoe having played 426 minutes and Morgan 490. Some question both Rapinoe because she took all the penalties(3 pks, one free kick and 2 goals from the field) and Morgan had 5 goals in one game and only one goal after that game.

Lol sure. Lavelle is unimportant to the USWNT success. They should just cut Lavelle. She takes all those touches away from Rapinoe and Morgan. I like how they turn the ball over a lot. It shows nice sportsmanship. You know gives the other teams some hope.
