OP if you're new to the area and used to being somewhere you can drive under an hour for a day at a normal ocean beach, that just doesn't exist here. Yes, plenty of lakes, and some people do Sandy Point but it's not the same. I've gone to Delaware for the day but it's not the Jones Beach or LBI type day trip that I suspect you have in mind.
