Not sure if it's me, or this board got nastier after COVID. So unhelpful and rude. |
It’s you. No one here has ever suffered fools gladly. |
I would be ok with whatever shes comfortable with. I have a 5 and a 2 year old. I dont take the 2 year old with me to pee in my house. But im the mom and not the employee. Sometimes they play on a Different floor than me for 10 minutes. But they are not very rambunctious. |
Not if you nanny is having her period and your kid sees blood which happened to mine. Think about it before you judge |
Over the years, depending on the kids' ages, I've had to take a few in the restroom with me. If parents work from home, it's so much harder to use the restroom honestly so I think the nanny was just trying to do what she thought would be less disruptive for you. Nothing wrong with letting her know that she can leave your child with you when she needs to use the restroom of maybe strap him in high chair and put on a few minutes of a show if she needs a bit longer? |
I've always taken my nanny kids to the bathroom with me. I've been a nanny almost 20 years. |
And? So? I’m not a nanny but a parent to a very active kid who could not be left alone at 2. He’s seen it before. No big deal. Simple explanation that I’m not hurt, etc and he forgets about it. |
+1. Menstruation is natural. The sooner both boys and girls learn about it the better. |
I wear long skirts, and kids see nothing. However, they do sit on the potty chair while I do, and they flush for me which they find fascinating. We both wash our hands, and they learn the process well before kids who only go in the bathroom once they're "ready" to potty train. |
OMG, I am totally judging you, freak! Enough with the menstruation shaming! Periods are healthy and normal and nothing to put your nanny or yourself in the “unclean house” for! My son, 3, has seen me in the bathroom and flowing many times. He knows it’s menstrual fluid and comes out of me every months when I have my period. He’s fine with it. Our nanny is post-menopausal but has always taken him in the bathroom with her. And like others have said, he was ready to potty train at 22 months because he watched all of us. |
