Missing first two days of pre-k

On the one hand, I don't think it's a huge deal. The school won't really care. I'd actually worry more about your kid. On the other, this is a really bad attitude to take towards school this year. You probably know that, but the idea that you wouldn't switch around things to have your child attend school because it's inconvenient is... weird. This is real school. Not a private daycare.

This poster literally said it wasn’t a big deal, but that inconvenience really isn’t enough to justify missing school. That’s completely correct. Lots of people treat PK3 as though it’s private daycare and it actually causes big problems for the teachers and class. As a one off, no big deal though.

I agree - but by the same token - early dismissal professional development days are hugely disruptive to families, too. Either get subs in - or cancel the entire day. No one should be marked absent for a compelled partial attendance day.
