My older cousin's name is Nina and we grew up near our grandparents in NYC. I remember crowding around the new yorker at their dining room table racing to see who could find the Ninas first! I happen to LOVE the name but also really love my cousin so who knows. |
| Oh, and I remember them in the new yorker magazine but maybe it was the NYtimes? |
I'm reallyyy struggling to understand what you mean by this lol |
It’s not a nickname and isn’t close to “girl”. Ella means “she” in Spanish and people use it as a formal full name every day. |
Start your own thread abour Ella. Would you name your daughter girl? I wouldn't and I wouldn't name her She " Ella" either. Just my opinion which was asked! |
| Sounds like a very 80’s name. I grew up with a lot of Ninas! |
I assume the person means that nina in spanish is "girl" |
What about Colleen? That also means girl but lots of people give their daughters that name. Also, does it still mean girl without the ñ? |
| I love it, it's my sister's name. |
| I think it's cute, but I also think it really depends on how it sounds with the last name. |
|
I love it, it's a cute name.
I know 2 Ninas, one is 8 and the other one is 3. |
m Ah, thank you! Flew straight over my head. |
| Love it. I knew an Antonina (Polish name) who went by it. But I think it works by itself too. |
I also grew up with Lisas, Nina's and Tina's, Susans Nice classic name I also know several women named Marika, Melina |
| I love it. I suggested it for the post about names that work in Spanish and English. |
