Second week postpartum and so hungry

Anonymous
I was so hungry and the baby had a milk protein intolerance so had to avoid all things with casein and whey. It was years ago but I remember I was constantly eating bowls of oatmeal with eggs cooked in and ground nuts, along with 'snacking' on cooked chicken while trying to figure out what I could safely eat and feel full.

This. Nuts, peanut butter, avo, cheese. Also while grains. Eat all the veg and fruit you can too, but don’t go lite or low carb right now.

Sorry everyone is giving you crap OP. For all the people who lose weight easily postpartum there are many of us who need to diet and except use and work at it. Try to drink lots of water and eat fruits and veggies. If you find yourself eating just to eat try goodpops- they are a no sugar added frozen treat I give to my daughter and only 35 calories.

It is totally possible to gain weight breastfeeding and that makes everything more stressful. Hopefully when you are getting more sleep you’ll crave carbs less. Sleep deprivation = carb cravings for me.

Sorry you think encouraging a woman who gave birth TWO weeks ago to not worry about calories to be “giving her crap.”

Literally wtf

Oh stuff it. She’s healing. It’s too soon to diet. And breastfeeding melted exactly zero pounds from my frame. . Her body is rebuilding and needs nutrient dense food NOW.

You need some carbs!! Eat the rice! Healthy carbs are great, your body needs them right now! Proteins and good fats too, just eat.

Yeah nobody is giving her crap. It is a sad commentary on diet culture in America that a woman who just grew and birthed a baby is second guessing her body’s hunger cues because of societal pressure to keep off a few pounds.
