Please help me understand house league age groups

As long as your younger child feels comfortable playing with the older group, I can't imagine any club objecting to it for rec. Just email which ever club their friends play for and ask.

Pardon my ignorance but is “club” the same as say emailing Vienna Youth Soccer or Mclean? Or are those called something else?

Exactly the same. Whichever organization you are interested in playing at. For rec, at least in the younger ages, I think they try and break teams down by what school/neighborhood kids are in.

Try cya or SYA or Burke soccer for combined age groups in rec.

Our house rec league with NVSC groups in two year age brackets. It helps with having enough teams to play within the area.
