| We just looked at a ton of 3 row cars. Didn’t like the Teluride because it seemed cheap and uncomfortable. |

Op here. Thank you all for chiming in! We’ve tried the atlas, pilot, highlander too- but so far our big winner is the Mazda CX-9. Doesn’t drive like an suv at all and has the right amount- but not too much- room. We’re stepping down in size from the odyssey because we don’t need as much anymore and care more about the ride.
Has anyone tried the palisade? That’s the only other on my todo list. But it too may be too big. |

I did not love the Telluride as much as some of the reviews out there. Like one of the PPs, I found it a little, just, not "solid" feeling when I drove it. Like it felt a little cheap to me in the driving experience.
Ended up with an Explorer which I unexpectedly loved after swearing off Fords 15 years ago. |

Telluride owner here and the PP summed up the process you will need to go through (joining the forum, finding a dealer willing to sell at MSRP, etc).
I also drove the Palisade and would have gotten that if the Telluride didn't come through. The cx9 is also great. I think you have a lot of good options in that class. I'm very happy with the Telluride though (came from a highlander) |
This was my impression too!!! I don’t get the Kia craze. |
| I tried the telluride and didn’t think it was anything special. Stuck with a Honda Odyssey, which is also nothing special, but definitely holds more stuff and people comfortably. |
Did you try the Sx (top trim). That's where the value comes in |

Reviving this thread.....
'14 MDX is coming up on 110k and am starting to look and test drove a Telluride SX-P today. TBH, if I could drive it off the lot tomorrow for MSRP, I'd do it. But as PPs have mentioned, dealers are looking for 5-10k above MSRP, which I just can't justify, especially since it puts the Telluride in the same $$ neighborhood as the MDX. I didn't think the Telly felt quite as solid as my MDX, but otherwise I loved it. Loads of tech and I like the Telly's look. One concern is the infotainment screen. I'm 6'3 and felt like the screen was kinda low for me, giving a tough viewing angle due to glare. For all the kvetching about the old MDX's dual screen, it was the perfect viewing angle. I'm not in a huge rush, as the MDX has plenty of life left in it, so I'll probably test drive both a little more and then make a call before the first of the year (and see if KIA catches up production to demand, which could bring prices closer to MSRP). Worse comes to worse, and I decide on the KIA, I may just order at MSRP from Parsons and wait it out into the spring/summer. |

And people wonder why our planet is on fire.
Everyone we know thinks they now need a third row SUV and many have already bought them. Not a single person clamoring for one that we know has more than 2 kids and most of these cars are used for mom/dad commuting by themselves to work. I've got 2 highly programmed (and tall) teens and we often carpool too and we've had zero issues getting by with a mid size car. But hey there is a reason car companies spend billions on ads every year in the US. |
Don’t forget, she left the dead Mercedes in her driveway lest her neighbors forget she’s wealthy. 🙄 |
| We wanted a palisade third row and didn’t want to pay over msrp so kept looking. Almost got another pilot but on a whim tried the Subaru Ascent. Really like it…another option out there |
I drive a GLS63 and I could never downgrade to a Kia. Hey OP, have you thought about the Atlas? If I had to downgrade that's the only thing I'd consider. |
| Calling it a Telly. Just no. |
Im lazy. Sorry not sorry. |
So you say it out loud when talking about it too, you’re “that guy”. Wow |
