Really?

Schools cannot notify parents of the preliminary scores. They have to receive the finalized scores from the state, print and mail them to parents.

I’m sorry for your experience, but I felt my children’s teachers did an amazing job with virtual, and that they were taught.

Not saying I’d want to do it again, though!

Why not?

There were SOL retakes this year, and those parents were notified of scores in order to give permission to do retakes.

Two kids, same school. One had significant learning gains and one had learning loss/regression. I think it was their developmental age. 2nd grade virtual wasn't good but I have faith that they'll catch up in 3rd. (fingers crossed, prayer, knocking on wood, lighting a candle; everything).

Only for high school courses needed for verified credits. Not at any elementary schools for sure.

They usually have a day for retakes in elementary. Are you saying they changed procedure this year? (which seems entirely possible)

Yes there were no retakes in elementary this year due to the hybrid schedule as later SOL dates. Scheduling retakes was too difficult logistically so no one was offered a retake (at least at the elementary level).
