DS1 born at 40w5d 8.6 oz DS2 born at 39w1d (scheduled c to prevent issues from first delivery repeating), 7.2 oz Now 10 and 7 and DS2 tracking to be MUCH taller than DS1. |
|
My first, a boy, was 21 inches and 7 lbs 12 oz; my second, a girl, was 19 inches and 7 lbs even. I went two weeks late with my boy and was induced at 39 weeks with my girl.
Now they are in elementary school and DS is average height and weight while DD is very tall and very skinny. Not what we would have expected from their baby weights or toddler years. (DS was an enormous toddler and DD was very petite!) I wouldn't worry about a second baby being smaller than a first, unless they are objectively tiny. If it's just relative to each other, well, all babies are different. |
| Yes, but both were very large. 1st was a girl at 9lbs 3oz Second was a boy at 8lbs 11oz. |
| First was 8lb 3oz , second was 7lb 11oz. Didn’t realize having a smaller second baby was abnormal? I assume it’s 50-50 if the second is a bigger or smaller. |

Yes.
7lbs 6lbs 6oz Both girls |

Yes, my first (boy) born two weeks early weighed nearly a pound more than my second (girl) born just two days before due date. Possibly mild IUGR from a virus I caught when pregnant that made me pretty sick. Both were healthy through infancy though.
They're 7 and 5 now and boy is average for height and weight; girl is skinny and tall. |

Went from 7lb 3oz firstborn to 5lb 6oz - IUGR, delivered at 40wk. Second child is still very petite.
Third child was 9lb 4oz. Let me tell you, that gave me whiplash. |

Yes. Both were born at exactly 39 weeks (did an IUI, so I knew exact dates)
#1 9lb 11oz #2 8lb 14oz |
LOL, same here. First baby was 10'3 and second was 9'8. Both boys. (FWIW, late ultrasounds with DS1 predicted he was of "average" size, so that tells you how reliable late ultrasounds are. |
Same |
| I had a smaller second baby, who is still much smaller than her older sibling was (she’s five now, and always been tiny). No issues at all other than small. |
| My first son was 8lb 11oz at 39+1. My second son was 7lb even at 39+1. 1st was also over an inch longer. |
| Yes, 1 lb lighter. But was born one week earlier and was a girl (first child was a boy). |
