+1 says it all, really. |
Every Montgomery County school bus has a camera now. Even the ones dropping off students at - GASP! - apartment buildings. My kid’s bus nabs one of you assholes almost weekly. |
A well deserved ticket, I say! Tell us the street/cross street. |
If only there were multiple flashing yellow lights indicating that the bus was about to put up its stop sign. |
It sounds like OP was driving the same direction as the school bus which is even worse. |
No it is not new--if there's no median between you and the bus and the bus is loading/unloading, you STOP. The only thing that's new is that there are cameras to catch you. Just pay attention to the road. |
Exactly, it's very hard to see these buses! I have no sympathy for any of these idiots. Newsflash, kids do stupid and unexpected things getting off of school buses sometimes. The driver is driving, and can't prevent a kid from suddenly crossing the street. Please slow down and stop when you see a bus. |
I did not get that impression but if so, that's so much worse. |
No, there was a picture. I don’t even remember seeing the bus. |
You didn't see a 40-foot long yellow bus with retroreflective tape on the back, a strobe light on top, flashing yellow and red lights, and a stop sign on an arm? Please stop driving right now. |
| Sounds like the incident was on River Road near Little Falls in Bethesda. There is an apartment house there and people feel that they don't need to stop even though River is not divided there. |
This. |

Not all local highways are built like interstate highways. Lee Highway west of Falls Church in VA is still a highway, and noticeably so the further west you go. You are correct though that the presence of a median is the determining factor. |
| No sympathy. It should be $1000.00. It needs to hurt. Just like it would hurt the kid you hit |
