| I know a girl with that name, it’s pronounced “Yan”. |
| Nope! |
|
I really like the name Van, OP. It’s fresh. Evander or Evan come to mind but you can use Van as a stand alone name.
DS is Walt. Not Walter. Walt. |
| I think it’s an Asian name. |
| Van is pretty bad. Sounds like a high school dropout in the 60s or 70s who was a roadie for a while, now grows weed in Northern California. |
| Love it! Strong one syllable that’s easy to spell and pronounce. Sounds masculine too. |
| I like it. I also like Vaughn, which might seem more like a “full” name. |
| Vaughn is x100 better |
| I think it can be cool, but my mind first went to a minivan |

OP here. Appreciate all the feedback!
We’re now leaning just Van or Cameron (nickname Cam), which was our original choice. Didn’t anticipate a curveball this late in the game! |
| I like it |
My best friend when I was little was a Vietnamese girl named Van, so I always think if it as female. |
|
Van is super cool. I'd use it on its own. But Donovan is nice. Evan is also nice, but ... doesn't seem like it needs a nickname!
|
| I LOVE VAN! I lobbied for it for my boys, but got no where. My older brother had a good friend named Van (in the 1970s) who was so sweet and nice and sporty and cute. Go for it! |
| for a boy or girl? I met a "Van" and it was short for Evangeline. |
