It's Marriott level, nowhere near Ritz or 4S. Yes, there is food service at the pools. Many local families are members of this club and use the pool frequently, know each other, etc. The pool crowd is not representative of the hotel guest population. UVA tennis team uses the courts. They look very swanky. The grounds are lovely and food was OK but overpriced, just like the hotel rooms. I remember a very poor night's sleep due to loud A/C wall units

The Clifton is boooring for kids. Absolutely nothing at all for kids to do there. They're trying to be a foodie destination and don't want kids around.
