This did not work for my screamer. At all. |

I used to rock my ds at that age for naps.
Had two naps per day, or even three, worked like a charm and he slept great. He was a wonderful nighttime sleeper falling asleep on his own. I do not understand this assistance that babies must fall asleep on their own all the time. What's the harm in rocking your baby to sleep for a nap if that will result in falling asleep faster, giving you time to rest or do things, and having a rested baby afterward? |

I worked in a daycare. We helped all the babies and toddlers that needed help falling asleep for a nap, fall asleep.
It involved rocking, rubbing the back, singing, etc. Did you try that? |

+1 It’s a few days of stress but then you will be so happy you did. Use a sound machine at nap too. |
| How did she fall asleep before you started this? |
At EIGHT MONTHS OLD? If true your poor babies were seriously sleep deprived. |

+2 it’s the only way to regain your sanity. I had a screamer too. Took me three solid days, but I couldn’t keep existing on the schedule she let me live. |
Everyone’s tried that, PP. The problem with some babies is that the second they hit the crib, they wake up. |
Just want to add that at 8 months my youngest (screamer) dropped her morning nap. She went down fir a solid 2.5 hours every afternoon, but figuring out that transition was rough. |
Babies can drop the night feed when they reach 13 lbs. No reason a healthy 8 month old should still require night time feedings. |
