Rank these SUV’s solely by exterior looks

The looks can be polarizing, but A) the wheels and LED head/tail lights on the luxury trim completely change the look from the less appealing base model, and B) 101,000 people in the U.S. bought an RX in 2020, so plenty like the looks.

The Lexus RX is a great vehicle.

What's a "better Acura?" MDX is the highest starting price of all their models, except maybe that sports car which probably won't work for carpool.

I agree with this mostly. Volvo is definitely most attractive. The Acura emblem on the front is getting troublingly large, but its subtly attractive otherwise. The highlander fenders are a bit obnoxious, so I might give the nod to the Mazda in that grouping.

Acura - I have a '19 and love the redesign
Highlander - never liked the looks until the latest redesign
Ascent - boring but ok
Mazda - the front grill is weird to me
Pilot - boring

FWIW, I drive the Subaru. The interior sold me, and I didn’t want to pay the Volvo or Lexus price and didn’t want to deal with the Volvo reliability. The Acura looks better than the Subaru but not enough to justify the price difference.

This would be similar to my list and I also drive the Subaru. I love it!

This, exactly. I think Volvos look the best in general, but their reliability is comparatively abysmal. Since we keep cars at least 200k miles, I would never buy one.

only if you pay over MSRP and get it in White so the tail lights can make it look diminutive. I wish they had a dealer option to make the lettering on the back larger and more spaced out

Yes! It looks so odd! I think that every time I pass one. That car has an an odd look.

I don’t drive one, but I really think the VW Atlas has a neat look. If I was getting a new car, I’d look into that.
