top 3 most annoying DCUM soccer posts

The shit that pisses me off the most are parents who played soccer in college and now think they know more than anyone who didn't. One thing I learned on this forum is...once someone starts off with...I played soccer in college, I just skip the post. Probably 2nd place is people that call everything a money grab. News Flash...shit cost money. They need to charge you for their service. If you don't like the cost, don't buy it.

I also don't get why all threads talk about the sport like it's the NFL. 99% of the kids playing soccer are not on the top level of top travel teams. How does this forum become only about the handful that are?

The amount of time and attention paid to a group of 90-lb kids learning a sport is bizarre. I assume the other 10,000 soccer parents out there just back away slowly from this section of DCUM.

-parent of 5 years of travel soccer

I totally agree. I was disheartened when I discovered the soccer forum here to read all of the posts about 12 year old kids! I truly hope its the same 10 parents, lol. For a while it really made me second guess some of the teams we were looking at for our DD.

+1. Big time.

Well, I show up, but then realize there's nothing to help me here since everything devolves into acronym-bashing.

Zero value added. Surely you're smarter than to just repeat someone else's words.

"sock puppet"
This whole forum is anonymous. What did you expect?

almost anything from FCV
nothing against the club, but many of your parents are arrogant

Classic example of the 10 soccer loons.

On a thread where the parent of a 8-9 year old is asking to understand the difference between the MSI options...

And the responses:

"girls they are rec compared to BSC no matter the division. They compete with Potomac"

"It makes sense to compare BSC to rec because BSC has one of the weakest girls programs in the area. That club isn't in the same league as elite clubs like McLean, FCV or Pipeline. BSC parents are probably better off doing rec than spending money to travel out of state to get destroyed by superior teams. A buddy of mine with a girl on the BSC u18/19 team said he overheard a parent from the opponent complain that they wasted time traveling from NJ to Bethesda play such a weak team and that the local rec team in Jersey would have been a better opponent. That was after the Jersey team scored two goals in the first 5 minutes."

"The BSC top girls teams are typically decent but their second teams are no better than Rec. soccer."

Seriously folks? A person is asking info for their 3rd grader and now you are bashing an entire, non-relevant, soccer club based on what someone overheard during a college-aged soccer game?

It would be so nice if people could actually give and receive useful info. But alas.

I actually don't think that is the case. I think that the clubs market ALL the teams to be super elite travel snowflake teams, therefore, making the parents believe this and pay the big dollars. Hence, the vast number of kids that are on the top level of travel kids according this forum and many others. There cannot be that many amazing soccer players in the DMV.

There appear to be multiple adults who have way too much of their ego wrapped up in their kids-- you know, the ones actually doing the sport and work. I can only imagine how much it would stink to be their kid.

the guy that constantly posts on DCUM that parents have too much personal investment in their kids soccer.

What I don't understand is, lots of clubs took money. We joined our club for the spring at 50% price and did not get to play 1 practice, so we lost all of that. Not even with perks the following year.

Why was loundon so bad compared to others?

FWIW, Loundon dad is the most bothersome person ATP.
