What does it mean when a man touches your cheek?

Not necessarily creepy or predatory, but it’s not acceptable in the American workplace. Personally I think this gesture comes from an impulse of kindness and a wish to comfort.

It is creepy and predatory. Period.

Agree. Adults have many impulses. They need to be regulated, especially in the workplace.

Yuck. That’s what.

I’d put that in the same creepy grooming category of men that tell a joke or secret and do a big wink to a child or woman. Yuck. Power, control, submission.

Is this a hella flirty move or what??? How would you read it?

At work!?!?

Body bubble breach!!

Did you like it?

He is not my boss. I can't go into the details. But suffice it to say I have a huge crush on this guy and I can't help but hope he likes me back. I might have been a little bit sad before this happened, but nothing too obvious. But it's hard to know if his actions were due to fondness/comforting or attraction.

If you both are in your 20s and junior analysts or something, you will have to take the reputation hit and find another employer if you both start dating.

If you’re older or married etc then no advice will help you.

For gosh’s sake you have to ask? He was making a move! If you really like him, both of you are single, and neither of you is in a position of power to the other then go for it.

Totally normal behavior. Especially for the workplace.

Not if the recipient enjoys it.

Ah! Guarantee he’s sniffed this out about you and will use it to his advantage. Be smart, OP. Think with your HEAD. If he’s married or otherwise involved (and you work together so he may not lie about it...) but be VERY careful. This is your livelihood; don’t sh*t where you eat.

So sad that people are worried one of them is married! That didn’t occur to me. I guess I’m too innocent.

I assumed 26-28 year old woman who is single and 37-45 year old man who is married.
