But to your question: wear socks entire time and no feet touching. Don't get a pedicure EVER again.

This is why I will not get a pedicure. People with warts and fungus getting pedicures.

Yep. I had a one for years and got pedicures all the while. I had no idea I had one. I thought it was just a tiny callous

Only tangentially related, but why do massages always start at the feet? Having the therapist work on my feet and then use the same unwashed hands to work the rest of my body, all the way up to my face, totally ruins the entire experience for me.

I’ve never had a massage start at my feet. They usually start at my back.

I hope that you have tried the duct tape method for plantars warts. It takes a while, but works brilliantly. You can google for the nuances, but basically you put a piece of duct tape over the wart and keep it on for weeks except to (briefly) wash the area & change the tape. The wart appears to die - you’ll know because it gets loose and you can sort of scrape it out.

I am a doctor (though not a derm), and have just have my kids and husband use duct tape when they got warts (plantar or standard). I have no idea why many doctors don’t appear recommend this. It’s so easy, it’s not painful, and it works.

Lysine!!!! It worked for my husband within 2 weeks (actually kills the wart virus, doesn't just remove the wart), then I told a friend about it when she said her daughter had one, then she told a friend, and my list of people that I know it has cured of plantar warts has grown to 4 people just in my circle.

It is taken orally and typically works within about 2 weeks.

Pro tip. Pack wipes and wash your feet before getting on the table.

Yes tried duct tape for months but find I can’t be consistent with it enough. Falling off in my sock, etc.

Do you still get pedicures?

We had to use other treatments in addition to the duct tape for my son. He had the most stubborn warts. But op may want to use it in addition to her other treatment.

I have warts removed using a laser. Who has time for all this other nonsense? Make an appointment and be done.

Eeek! This is why I stopped to. It’s really disgusting when you think about it!

Yep. Fugas and wart virus is REALLY hard to kill too. The spray solution salons use and quick wipe down doesn’t cut it

As a massage therapist I ask you wear a sock. I can get and transmit the virus that causes warts. It’s also contraindicated for treatment, I need to avoid that area so we don’t disrupt the infection.

And definitely no pedi until wart is resolved and tissue healed.
