This explains the schools should stayed closed nuts we have in Arlington. They are still posting how kids and teachers going to school is a death sentence. |
Really? |
Seems like they're finding different things to be outrages about. The schools teaching diversity and tolerance, for starters. It's becoming an organization of conservative parents in FCCPS from what I can tell. |
I appreciate knowing who the loonies are so I can avoid them! |
DP. Yes, really. Some very good APS teachers are being bullied by the parents, and some will not be back in the fall because of it. Hope they're happy. |
Have those teachers considered how much those parents could be paying in property taxes and that technically teachers should be subservient to taxpayers becaus it's like, right in the name public servant? I wish teachers would start appreciating that without my taxes, nay, without my children, their C- undergraduate transcript would be useless and I, and I alone, keep them employed. |
Yep, that's how it's reading to me too. Lots of people wanted the schools to reopen in person but to do so in a responsible way. Now people are posting about wanting kids to stop wearing masks in school and talking about why the schools are talking about racism and diversity. It's really jumped the shark. They are also putting forward 4 super conservative candidates for school board, including a guy from CATO who calls himself "non-partisan." Give me a break. |
Does this organization have a name? |
Actually teachers could easily jump over to private school. They get paid less. They also don't actually need a teaching license. So they can be employed elsewhere if they would like |
Falls Church City Parents for Schools. The org that did the yellow open schools signs. |
That’s why many parents in Arlington are so skeptical of the APE (Open Schools Now) group. Once the schools are back full time, there will be some other wedge issue that these conservative parents seize upon to try to elect their preferred candidates. |
