I think some teams have older players but most are under 23.

Money grab? It's like $200. Maybe not nothing, but not much more than most rec leagues for 2-3 months.

From wha I can tell, there are two main U23 leagues in the area. First, CCL has its Pro23 league which seems to have the better clubs in the area. My DD played in this league two years ago as a high schooler but the team had more college players than hs. Most were from the club originally but a few were from other clubs. Was a great experience for her as a high school player and she’s doing it again this summer to get ready for her next college season. Cost is minimal. Here’s some info from Herndon’s website (which was the best source I could find). https://www.herndonyouthsoccer.org/leagues/ccl-pro23/2021-information

There’s also the WPSL league which has a few local area teams (associated with VYS and ODFC) which seems to have fewer games and more travel. https://washingtondlfc.com/league/

Considering what league fees and field rentals cost, it’s hardly a cash cow. Clubs probably lose money on it or coaches work for free.

They probably take money from the ulittles programs to pay for the coaches to relive their glory days.

Anyone playing? Have there been tryouts for this?

teams are pretty much set. college players d1 mostly. it's super competitive now. local teams are cutting players or having "practice (not play) players"

I like it

Alexandria marketing plug .. nice. Gotta keep Tommy’s pockets overflowing.

Seriously something wrong with this idiot. Your obsession with this guy Tommy can only be due to you feeling inadequate to him or something. Obviously he makes more money than you. is it that. Did he bang your girl? maybe its both. Whatever it is you have a problem

For women in addition to the CCL league there are local teams in WPSL and UWS2:

DC Dutch Lions FC
ODFC Cesena
NOVA FC women
LESC Internazionale
Maryland Elite SC

Most have started playing but some college players are still coming home and they'll still add an impact player if you are good enough.

Kids playing soccer in college need to get touches on the ball while home. Where would you suggest they play?

We just received an email from our club about a game this weekend. It seems like a neat opportunity for DD to see college players. Plus I don’t have to drive far and it’s free.
