Diagnose me! Wth is going on?

Could it be a leukemia or other blood cancer? They cause recurrent, unexplained fever. Frankly, I'd get myself into a doctor - any doctor - asap.

Also - when my son was young, he was very athletic and healthy. But for three months or so, he would get these weird fevers. I'd take his temperature, fever. And then I'd come back in an hour - no fever. I thought I was losing my mind. In the meantime, he was playing soccer and tennis nonstop. Finally, one weekend - we were overseas - when we had nothing to do, I said lets just take him to the doctor. He had pneumonia - and one of his lungs had collapsed. They told us to go straight to the emergency room. But you'd never even have known he was sick except for those weird fevers.

Op I'd get pushy with the doctors office. See if they can squeeze you in right away for a telehealth appointment and then labwork.

Agree with this. You need a specialist.

OP here: yeah except all the rheumatologist I’ve called in my area (not DC) don’t see patients unless you have a referral and supporting bloodwork. And for that I need to see someone first. I’m at UC now. I’ll let you guys know how it goes. (I also have numbness and to going to one arm now which is why I decided to come.

This sounds like my friend who got sick after international travel to Africa. It took her eight months to get a diagnosis because no doctors took her symptoms seriously, not even Hopkins infectious disease docs. They were dismissive of her unusual blood work. Have you traveled? She badgered them till they finally ran extra testing and they learned she had acquired sn unusual infection on a safari she took.

No. I traveled 2 years ago to Europe, but that’s it.

I did go to the UC and they did bloodwork, including an ANA test. It’ll take days, but it’s a start!

I'm not saying it is a tick disease but babesia is common in this area as well as others. Also lymes does not always present with a bulls eye rash.

I would go to each of these at this point:
- allergist
- endocrinologist (cyclical effects point to possibly hormones)
- immunologist (due to infections);
- hematologist (anemia),
- neurologist (pain that seems to be radiating around)
- cardiologist (chest pain);

ringing in my ear could be so many things; how old are you?

My sister had an illness from a lone star tick bite. She sent me a picture of the tick embedded in her skin. Because it wasn't a deer tick, she thought nothing of it. 6 weeks later, she started getting fevers off and on and achey joints. She went to the doctor a couple of times over 3 months and tried some antibiotics, but the symptoms kept coming back. I reminded her about the tick and she went back to the doctor, was given the correct antibiotics and fully recovered.

You can feel cold because of anemia.

This. Don't bother with Urgent Care unless you think it could be pneumonia and be sure to go to one that has an in house x-ray.

Better to get started on blood work with a PCP and then figure out which specialist to see first.

Urgent care and ER will be totally useless.

Wait till you have an appointment scheduled with a door who can evaluate this for you long term.

Have you been to a doctor before? Who diagnosed the anemia?
