Cicadas and summer camp

I was in high school during the last 17-year cicada cycle and it was incredibly underwhelming. Like, maybe you step on a few, but it 100% did not live up to the hype AT all. I wouldn’t have even noticed if it wasn’t all over the papers like this year.

I was living in Tenley and going to high school in NW DC at the time. I’m hoping this year will be more exciting but not getting my hopes up.
