Omg. I don’t mind masks indoors and thought it was a bit early to drop the indoor mandate, but the mayor and her office have been such a mess for the past year, and this is just another example of that.

I assume businesses complained about this sudden change that required new signage and vaccine card checks.

Under the updated order, fully-vaccinated residents will still have to wear a mask when in indoor common areas or inside businesses.

Damnit. People still don’t believe the science and want vaccinated people masked when they don’t need to be.

Someday the Neanderthals will come around.

Because the science proves quite clearly that 5-10% of vaccinated people will STILL get covid, experience some degree of illness, and be infectious to everyone around them.

That is why masking is not going away. Ever. Period.

Your science is not everybody's science.

Huh? There is no “science” that “quite clearly” proves this. On planet earth, where most of us live, it’s nowhere near 5-10%. You need to either do some more reading or just stop talking about covid, because you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

Among more than 95 million vaccinated, the CDC has reported 6720 symptomatic cases (0.007%) ; 594 COVID hospitalizations (0.0006%); 112 COVID deaths (0.0001%).

It has pretty much gone away where I live. But, I live nowhere near DC.
You people are nuts.
Sad that you have to rely on your mayor to outline your freedoms.

No dancing at weddings???

“Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is facing growing criticism from frustrated residents of America’s capital city after she lifted the mask mandate for vaccinated people, then backtracked and reinstated it less than 24 hours later. This week also saw Bowser enact a ban on dancing at wedding receptions.”

Banning dancing at indoor and outdoor weddings?

That is nothing more than a power move. Ludicrous.

You just made up that statistic, didn't you?

Stuff like that is straight up nonsense and will make people stop listening if more measured rules are put in place. DC is the most overly cautious place in the planet and even this is a bridge too far.

Biggest changes: If you live in an apartment or condo, you no longer have to wear a mask in common areas if fully vaccinated

AND - businesses may start letting in patrons and customers who are unmasked if they can provide proof of vaccination if asked. It is now up to the business to post exterior signage requiring a mask.

Carry your vax card with you and prepare to ditch the mask! Details from WTOP

Good, I’ll know where NOT to go.

PP, they ARE nuts. This area is crazy! I’m actually considering leaving my husband (kids are grown) because he won’t leave.
