Pre covid - after using the bathroom, and if I touched something particularly gross (like raw chicken or something) and that was it. I was also sick ALL THE TIME (terrible immune system, I've always been really prone to colds).
Now - before leaving the house, hand sanitizer between stops (for instance, after leaving Walgreens, but before going into the post office), upon returning to the house, and before I eat. The one silver lining to covid has been not getting colds, and I'm LOVING it. I'd really like to keep up with some of this (probably not the hand sanitizer between stops) post-covid. I had, just in the year before covid, started being really intense about hand washing/sanitizing anytime I flew on a plane because I ALWAYS get a cold after vacations/air travel, and it was really helping. Thinking back on it - I used to routinely metro to meet friends at a restaurant and then sit right down to dinner and eat, without washing up. Sounds disgusting now. |

After using the bathroom and before I eat. That's it unless they've gotten dirty/sticky from doing something.
Don't even own hand sanitizer. |
I am super enthusiastic about washing my hands and won't apologize for my love! 😉 I almost never get sick although I am chronically underslept. |
| Pre-covid after bathroom and before cooking/eating. Now I wash them every time I enter the house. I was almost never sick before Covid and will probably ease back to that now that I am vaccinated. |
| Always after coming into the house, and always after going to the bathroom. Always before I prepare any type of food. And shower twice a day. |
| I wash hands after I use the bathroom and when I come into my home. I don't also wash before eating. |
| I rarely wash my hands unless I have something specifically dirtying them. I rarely get sick. My kids as well. My husband does and is the one always comin down with a cold. For real. On some level you have to not be a clean freak to be healthy - there's germs all around us. Seriously my kids get sick maybe once a year if that. As little ones in K/PreK they just rarely got sick. |
| When I enter the house, when I use the bathroom and before cooking/after cooking |
| Probably 30+ times. I’m a SAHM to a 4 year old and 9 month old. Between changing diapers, making snacks, preparing meals, washing dishes, playing with the dog, and helping the 4 year old wash her hand, etc etc etc it adds up to a just silly amount of hand washing |
| I'm on your team, OP. Your boyfriend is wrong. |
| After using the bathroom, after coming in from outside, after petting the dog, after changing diapers and frequently while preparing food. |
|
I always wash my hands when I come home.
But I’ll admit I don’t wash after peeing - something I adopted after developing hand eczema. |
|
My husband washes all the time and is never sick.
Who knows. |
Same here. |
What would that be? Honest question. |
