On the boys side...what a s show.

Boys side younger teams are a disaster. Coach AF is worthless and is stealing a paycheck.

Parent of a DD in the U9-U12 range here--we are pleased with the coaching/staff. From what I've seen watching multiple teams within this age range the style of play is very pass oriented with hyper emphasis on players knowing where to be without the ball--things that will serve them well down the road no matter what club/team they are on. They seem pretty rigid about staying committed to that style of play and teaching even when there are obvious, exploitable opportunities to "beat" another team by simply playing the ball over the top of the "swarm" and creating numerous 1v1 chances with the other teams' GK.

An observation I have that I can't speak to whether or not it exists at the U13+ levels is on the younger teams (U9-U12) there are not really any physical athletic freaks like we have seen at some other area clubs.

Do any ECNL parents have any info on timeframe for offers to go out to existing players? It seems odd nothing has been said on the matter!

Probably have to wait until after tryouts. very rare for an existing player to be not offered

There are no official tryouts this year-just ID sessions through mid May.

And for pre-ECNL (U9-U12) they are having formal tryouts in May.

Question for current BRYC parent. When you get your offer are all of them for ECNL? I know they like to do the big composite teams but some girls never set foot on the ECNL field. Just curious if everyone is ECNL status and everyone just knows where they stand? And during training are they all one big group or are they broken into 2 teams during practice?

It's a player pool. Girls can move up and down from ECNL and Composite. I'd say about 1/3 are firm ENCL starters, 1/3 are in between and 1/3 are firm composite players. Everyone rostered for ECNL games will play a decent amount of time and almost all academy players get some sort of ENCL time - hence the challenged w/l record. Training is mixed and sometimes broken into 2 team when headed to a tournament or showcase.

This seems to pop up repeatedly. Does anyone have any specifics on what isn't working on the boy's side? Could it be that bad? I have met some parents who have left, but can't get a good answer.

The coaching on the boys side is virtually non existent . Basically the The boys teams are set at U9 and never adjusted til they age out. Even if players leave there is only replacement of new players no player movement especially down. As bad as all of the boys ECNL teams are you would figure they would either move up some others from the elite team and send some others down. or replace to coaching staff. Am I wrong?

Are BRYC players planning on trying out elsewhere?

Our DD is coached by Coach B at U11 and we love him. I have heard many people on the other side say that the particular coached you mentioned is a piece of work.
