This stupid dog will not shut up and bark at anything that moves, including the wind and rustling leaves.

He is a bad boy. A very, very bad boy.

I blame the owners, not the dog. ( np)

Yes, this. While I certainly understand your frustration OP, I feel sorry for the dog.

Who cares about the dog? The dog probably isn’t in distress but OP is.

Call animal control after you have a recording for the required 10-15min time period.

They can get a dog walker, doggy daycare, whatever after the AC complaint. They get and warning and then fines which seems to be the real incentive for people to do something. In the meantime, a good set of noise-canceling headphones.

You need to make a complaint with the city. All cities have ordinances that prevent this.

Sometimes you need a neighbor to sign something to say it is barking as much as you say. Sometimes they come out themselves to check it.

They will fine the owners and eventually take the dog away after a few fines.

OP, did you post on this recently?

Do you maybe do something that irritates your neighbors? Like have the landscapers leaf blow just about every week? How many decibels do you suppose that is?

I think you are exaggerating about the dog barking, and I think perhaps you are the annoying, demanding neighbor who is unrealistic.

Maybe either spend less time at home, or invest in some earplugs. Stop looking for trouble and get yourself a hobby.

No, but unfortunately this is a common problem. And no, I'm an incredibly quiet neighbor. Asking other people to change because a dog owner is lazy, is unacceptable. And several of my neighbors agree the dog's barking is excessive. I haven't counted, but given that he can bark 100x a minute, there's probably at LEAST 5,000 barks every day.

We have barky dogs but use a bark collar (just the one that beeps) and it works like a charm. Maybe if they know it is bothering you, they will try to fix it.

DP here. Will you please share which bark collar you're using? Thx!
