Are you getting rid of your skinny jeans?

No way. My DD doesn't wear them now (college age), she wears these big wide leg cropped jeans- not a fan of the look at all (which is fine as it's her opinion that counts). We are too short in stature to wear the wide leg cropped pants without looking stocky

Most people don’t look good in skinny jeans though

Actually, with the right cut, many people do. Also, if you think people look bad in skinny jeans, wait until you see them in the high-waisted wide-leg jeans. Part of the wisdom of age is knowing what works for you. Trendiness is not style.

I was out in NYC this past weekend.. All the 20 somethings had on high waisted cropped straight leg jeans with a raw or frayed hem and chunky boots.

I just don't feel that style works over a certain age unless you're rail thin.

I'll stick to my skinny jeans

I was never into skinny jeans. I am glad to have more variety again. Skinny jeand were just always way way too tight

Unflattering and uncomfortable and my BMI is 21

No but I gotta be honest I am not wearing them much lately. They do look dated now! I don’t love Mom jeans on me but straight leg jeans look great. I wear a lot of those right now.

I just bought 3 new pairs today. They definitely flatter me - I look ridiculous in anything else since I’m so short.

They will cycle around again when they have sold lots of wide leg jeans and need to change the style to sell more jeans.

Mine is 19 and I think they look fab.

The wide leg jeans looks terrible on anyone without a perfect figure. Just because it’s currently a trend, does not mean they look good.

Nope, I'll keep them. I think fo them as "dressy leggings". Plus they make my butt look good. I have more current styles in my wardrobe as well, but I still find myself throughing on my black high waist skinny jeans a few times a month to run errands. The are great on a rainy day -- no extra fabric to get soggy, they tuck into my rain boots, and layer well with a jacket or coat. I don't need to be "on trend" all the time. I'm 41.

I’d like to try something else but don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard. The only people I see wearing boot-cut jeans are older women like my mom’s age, 60+. I think the high waisted crops look goofy as all get out. How different are straight leg jeans vs. skinny jeans? Anyone have a pair they really love and recommend?

Anonymous wrote:The death of skinny jeans is greatly exaggerated. Walking around soho this weekend I saw a good number of women in skinny jeans. I think it's something that's been exaggerated online by women who are afraid that children are mocking them.

I think at this point they're a "basic" are cuts of jeans are a lot more "fluid" than they used to be. But I like loose jeans, straight legs, skinnies, flairs, etc. Give me all the options!

Lol. Exactly this.

No. Because I am wearing the wide legged ones that were in and then out and now back in. I’m glad I saved them.

There was an article in the WSJ that said everything I wear is out - skinny jeans, t-shirts with sayings and cardigans. Although I’m not sure I care since I have always worked from home and right now the only places I go are to the grocery store or to pick up take out. I don’t think anyone there cares what I wear.
