They came out with the Virginia ecnl-r announcement already and it showed two new teams vs what was in vpl and loudoun and Arlington weren’t in it. You would think that would be the time to show Arlington and loudoun. Or maybe they decided parents of loudoun and Arlington would complain about now being in Virginia ecnl-r so they first show them with nc and sc teams. Parents go ballistic and then they move them to ecnl-r and parents are now happy. |
You are over thinking this. Virginia boys ECNL-R doesn't start until the fall. CCL is collapsing now, this spring, so this is just to get them through the next few months. |
What is "this" as in "so this is just to get them through the next few months"? Joining the NC and SC ECNL-R league? |
|
So, is CCL folding? It seems many of the top clubs are leaving CCL; Arlington, Loudoun, Va Legacy, Fredericksburg. Any others?
Are they still planning on keeping their C teams in CCL2? |
|
Loudoun Soccer Club, Virginia Legacy and Fredericksburg FC have been accepted as new members of the ECNL Regional League – Virginia beginning fall 2021, bringing the league to 12 member clubs currently.
I guess Loudoun ditched ECNL Carolinas Regional League. What about Arlington Boys? https://www.soccerwire.com/news/ecnl-boys-licenses-vpsl-as-new-regional-league-in-virginia/ https://www.ecnlboys.com/ecnl-boys-regional-league-map/ |
Can anybody explain why these teams simply stay in the same league? This is like all of the tenants in the same apartment building moving down the street to an identical apartment building and inhabiting the same rooms next to the same neighbors. Totally pointless and not worth the time people waste on crap like this. |

I can no longer keep up with all these stupid f@cking leagues and clubs jumping around.
In the grand scheme of things, none of it means jack sh@t. It’s a diversion to get the big bucks. It’s a business, folks. All the damn lemmings will follow them until the ends of the earth. Rise up youth soccer parents, demand better. Demand less stupid, needless travel. Demand a central local league. Not watered down crap. |
| On the boys side, I think CCL was the stronger league. With the addition of Loudoun, Legacy and Fredericksburg to VPSL, they are probably more even now. I've always thought there should be 1 league (for teams below the DA / ECNL) -- split in two conferences -- North (Northern Va) and South (Richmond, Tidewater, C-ville). Then, top two teams from each conference play for a championship. But that would make too much sense. |
| I told you soccer will lose lots of fans. Fans=parents. We’re getting pissed off this sh$t. |
| The ECNL-R league looks like a better deal than the ECNL one. Nice tidy region. No trips through the Hampton Roads tunnel or to NC/SC Maybe a few of the best teams aren't in it, but it's pretty solid overall. Being on the northern edge of the full ECNL conference is definitely a disadvantage when it comes to travel. |
Tell me about it, now SYC is doing an "alliance" with McLean ECNL. No one in SYC f@cking wants it. |
Then it won't matter, will it? Those of you who don't want it, won't try out for the ECNL team. No harm, no foul as they say. |
|
OP too quick to make those assumptions. The mid Atlantic division will still have their ecnl regional teams playing next to their ecnl 1 teams. Currently Arlington will be with the mid Atlantic division- not this specific side regional league.
They are separate and clubs have the two options to decide on. |
That is an interesting idea (from a club perspective). This could be a way to support the 30 player ECNL rosters that some of these clubs are carrying. Have two games each ECNL game day. Some clubs are doing something like this now using ECNL and EDP One complication is several of the ECNL clubs in Virginia do not have second teams currently - BRYC, VDA, Richmond United. I am sure BRYC would be happy to blow out to a 30 player roster though. |
