Expectant and Postpartum Moms
| I delivered 11 days past my due date. I have a friend who delivered her first 2 weeks before her due date and he second five days after her due date. In other words, it is impossible to know when your baby is coming. |
| I'm in the same boat with trying to figure out when my mom should come in, but since my mom doesn't need a visa, I have some more flexibility. I want to find out more about the "family emergency" policy for airlines. My plan is to have her come 4 days or so before my due date and then change the ticket to come earlier if the baby comes before that. I know she'd be sad that she missed the birth, but then she'll get to enjoy her grandson for as long as possible after he's born. Plus, since it's our first, I'm expecting to be late anyway. |

Thanks a lot.
We're talking and I might check with the airline companies what they can do. Just in case baby comes earlier... |
| I was three weeks early and full moon |
| I would be shocked if an airline considered the birth of a grandchild to be a family emergency. |
Agreed. Just book it for whenever you want with the understanding that she can change her flight and pay a change fee. |
