I'm going to try this berry "tiramisu" recipe for dessert. It just appeals, and isn't very difficult. You could use a yellow box cake if you're not much of a baker.

So weird to call this a tiramisu. My Italian grandmother made something very similar but did not call it a tiramisu. It's more like a classic Italian cream cake. It should be delicious, although I personally would skip the cloves because I hate cloves. Something like cardamom would work if you wanted a little depth to the citrus flavor.

I'd be worried a box cake mix would get soggy with the soaking. This is a sponge, and boxed cake mixes are not sponges -- they are basically baking soda cakes. I don't think they'd stand up to the soaking as well as a sponge. But you could do a similar frosting and fruit on a boxed cake mix. Or you could do it like a trifle, where it wouldn't matter so much if the cake was soggy.

We are doing:

-fried chicken
-mashed potatoes
-salad
-mac & cheese
-brussels sprout with bacon and maple
-rolls

Later, we are doing an Easter egg hunt in the backyard with some extended family and MIL is bringing cookies. I'm the only one in my family who likes coconut cake...if I had my druthers, that's what we would be having for dessert.

Headed to a potluck style Easter meal. I'm lebanese and I've been "assigned lamb kebabs because I have the best marinade in earth. I'm also bringing Mujadara..which is a type of rice dish.

Easter is the worst holiday not least because of the standard menu. Ugh. I hate Easter. Ham is so blah

We're making lamb chops in the pressure cooker, deviled eggs, and scalloped potatoes. We haven't figured out what else yet.

The kids are eating chocolate from their baskets. I don't know what other dessert we'll have. Whatever it is, it's going to be my pick with zero regard to the children.

Ham isn't standard! Growing up we had cornish hens. I know lamb is very popular too. I think anything spring like goes

I've never had ham on Easter. Lamb is standard.

Yes! I love potluck style holidays. Our group has people from all over the world so the foods are so fun to taste.

Yeah I just don’t like “spring” food

We're doing lamb chops, potatoes au gratin, and a green salad (maybe a different vegetable, still on the fence). I'm making chocolate pots de creme for dessert, with whipped cream and fresh berries. But a carrot cake sounds good, too.

I’m hosting a brunch for immediate family. Spinach and onion quiche (DD is vegetarian), bacon and onion quiche, oven baked French toast, spinach and strawberry salad, Canadian bacon, carrot cake for dessert.
