Easter menu

Can you all share your Easter menus? I’m only cooking for 4, but my kids are young (2 and 4) and might not appreciate the fancier recipes. I’d love to see what everyone else is cooking. I’m especially stuck on the dessert. Lemon bars? Orange Bundt cake?

-ham
-asparagus
-angel biscuits

We are doing duck and some sides but for my picky eater I’ll always do a plain white rice as a side for her.
As for desserts for kids, some really cute Easter cookie ideas on this blog:

Oh, little kids!!! I miss those days! I would bake a lamb cake - flavor can be whatever. Buy one of the molds. They aren't that expensive, like $15-20. Decorate the cake with fluffy white icing or white buttercream. If your kids eat coconut then sprinkle that on the cake. Or affix mini marshmallows. My kids used to loooooooove the lamb cake when they were little.

For dessert I would do a lamb cake, something like a daffodil cake with frosting, frosted sugar cookies, or even rice crispy treats.

Op here- never heard of a lamb cake. It looks right up our alley though. I love vintage things like that. Also, my kids are really into fancy spreads to make holidays feel special. We love coconut but dh doesn’t so I could prob make just the head coconut.

Rotisserie chicken, vegetarian quiche, salad. ( my kids will eat raw veggies in place of salad because they don’t like lettuce. A chocolate cake with buttercream frosting with Cadbury mini eggs on top. My kids will help make it and decorate it.

I signed up to bring a meal to a friend’s family (post surgery) and didn’t realize the date I picked was Easter so I want to do food that reheats well. I will probably do ham, deviled eggs, asparagus wrapped in bacon, and mashed potatoes. Maybe a green or cucumber salad. Not sure about dessert. They’re from Wisconsin so I may pick up a Kringle at Trader Joe’s and some custard from Culver’s.

We have a vintage bunny mold so will probably do that but Costco has really cute chocolate cakes in an egg shape if you don’t feel lik baking. $15 so probably cheaper than that ngredients and your time.

Not at all sure what we are doing. My kids hate lamb, ham, etc. maybe a pork tenderloin. I’d do baby potatoes roasted with garlic but they hate those too.

We are not being traditional at all this year. Meatloaf with arroz con gandulas. Go figure. Veggie will probably be a salad. Fruit for the kids. I am struggling with desert as well.

We are doing a big brunch and I'm in the process of figuring this out. Super picky eaters and a 6 & 8 year old. I'm thinking:

- French toast casserole for the kids (make the night before)
- Puff pastry and asparagus tart for my mom and me
- Some kind of hash browny bacon side for DH
- "Bunny butt" cake because my daughter loves to bake with me (https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/holidays-celebrations/a35686204/bunny-butt-desserts/)
- Fruit

No one has any great sides that are cute for kids? Mine aren’t picky whatsoever and enjoy vegetables.

No idea.

But making these mini bunny cakes for dessert. The lamb cake lady inspired me. But since it is just us, and there will already be Easter candy, I didn’t want a large cake. The bunny pan is perfect amount. Now for dinner..

I’ve got a 1.5, 4, and almost 6 year old. I hear you on keeping things a little simpler!

Spiral glazed ham
Beecher’s mac and cheese
Steamed asparagus with lemon and butter
Honey glazed baby carrots
Homemade yeast rolls
Carrot cake from an Aldi box mix, homemade cream cheese frosting

Incidentally, my kids like eating asparagus ever since I told them it makes your pee smell LOL Just in case you’ve got a stubborn kid who won’t eat them...
