Ugh, how near retirement? SH has had a revolving door of principals for the past 6 years and we really need someone to stick around. Re the pp comments on redistricting, the school has always been a split feeder and it’s just a small area off Rt 7 making the change (like 2 neighborhoods), the SH Tyson’s crew are staying in Longfellow-McLean and everyone else was already Cooper-Langley. |
This is accurate. But several things could account for it. The area alone means moving from a more economically challenged area to a more affluent environment in terms of family population. This could be desirable to the principal for a number of reasons. Not saying it would be less stressful in ALL ways, but perhaps the principal feels ready for a different set of circumstances in his educational career. And maybe it's closer to home? Or maybe he has assessed that it would, in fact, be less stressful and his homelife necessitates that right now? Or maybe Spring Hill ES is a highly-demanding parent population that needs a principal who is used to taking the bull by the horns and getting results? Maybe said principal did a stellar job at Justice and Zulaga needs someone he can count on to go calm the waters at Spring Hill? Lots of ways to look at it! Wishing the new principal all the best on the new assignment! |
Oops. Change pronounds to HER then.... |
Zuluaga isn’t responsible for Spring Hill. It is not in his region. |
| SpringHill is a high preforming school w/ demanding parents . I think that alone is a challenge. |
Yeah, buts it’s actually an easier kind of challenge. |
| Does elementary principals make less money than high school principals. Seems seems like a demotion to me. |
I think Justice needs a principal who is empathic to the students and understands the difficulties they face. I liked DeRose when he was at Glasgow and I hope Justice gets someone who is attuned to the students' needs. |
So because she has money she can't be empathetic to those that do not? Got it. She actually has done a great job at Justice and is well liked. |
DP. I didn’t read PP as a criticism of Eck. |
By the students? |
