Why would going to a smaller school seem like a demotion? Do you view working in an ES less desirable than a HS?
It is less responsibility and not a typical progression.
This is accurate. But several things could account for it. The area alone means moving from a more economically challenged area to a more affluent environment in terms of family population. This could be desirable to the principal for a number of reasons. Not saying it would be less stressful in ALL ways, but perhaps the principal feels ready for a different set of circumstances in his educational career. And maybe it's closer to home? Or maybe he has assessed that it would, in fact, be less stressful and his homelife necessitates that right now? Or maybe Spring Hill ES is a highly-demanding parent population that needs a principal who is used to taking the bull by the horns and getting results? Maybe said principal did a stellar job at Justice and Zulaga needs someone he can count on to go calm the waters at Spring Hill? Lots of ways to look at it! Wishing the new principal all the best on the new assignment!
Oops. Change pronounds to HER then....
