Any parent who is enabling the normal pandemonium this year (by bankrolling trips) are just prolonging our long nightmare.

just like the massive spike that happened after the super bowl, right?

I'm sorry you don't understand science and/or are a Lockdown Lover.

DeSantis is lyng and the death rate in Florida is about 20% at least higher than he claims.

Try again. Why do you think he's trying to vaccinate people. This is not him being a great guy, he has to get those numbers down and fast. He knows that.

Virginia Tech cancelled spring break too.

My friends on faculty need a break. So do the kids.

If there is pandemonium in florida it is because people are idiots. Not all kids are idiots.

Because burnout and mental health issues are real.

Because they are adults and should be able to be responsible as such.

Because when you work at a university, overbearing parents will yell at you and criticize you no matter what you do, always, all the time, every day. For every you that says "OMG, why did you do spring break," there are 10 who would have said "WHAT, no spring break?! Are you running a prison?!"

Most college kids have had Covid.

I do work at a university. Yours must be very odd if parents are yelling at you "always, all the time, every day." Perhaps you should reach out for some type of counselling.

"Most?" You are wrong.

There is no US population that has had >50% infection rates (with the exception of microenvironments, like nursing homes and family groups).

WVU cancelled spring break and gave the students random Wednesdays off for "mental breaks".

Michigan cancelled spring break as well.

This is what my kid's school did.

Which schools didn't? It is something for others to consider when they choose a school (because all of those kids, who did whatever, will come back to the general campus population). It says something about the administration/judgement of those schools.

You do not know what exponential growth is. The number of vaccinated people are growing linearly with time.

Entering into the record Exhibit A, the entirety of the College and University Discussion thread.

Good day.

Many did but with many being remote, why not be remote form the beach?

The only school I’ve heard that went ahead with spring break is Northwestern. I think it was a very foolish decision and if I lived in the Evanston area I’d be pissed.

Karens are obsessed with Spring Break for some reason, possibly because of their own dreary lives.

Seriously, college-aged kids are going to be absolutely fine and if anything helps with getting herd immunity for the population.
