Camille with a French last name - too much?

Beautiful.

Camille is very nice! I have met many non French Camilles. I think it's perfectly fine with a French last name.

Lovely!

My dad is French descent and grew up in a French- immigrant town in Northern Michigan with a very French last name and he shared your concern in naming us. He didn’t want a name, as he said, that was like Pepe La Pew! So we all have English first names.

That said, Camille isn’t “too French” and I think my dad is a little nuts!

I know your going to try for Camie, but my guess is she’ll be Cam.

OP here Ndola Cam would be fine. I was just worried about sounding affected.

What? I don’t even understand what the issue is.

Personally I love Delphine as well. But alas I am a brown woman married to a non-French guy so my non-existent girl will never be named Delphine.

I'd consider it anyway or use it for a middle.

Maybe you should go for Camilla.

I have no clue who you’re talking about.

Camille would be lovely! I much prefer over Camilla. I have a very French last name/heritage and my parents chose English as opposed to French names. I think that is a fine route to take, but I do think that French first names (or versions of names) sound nicer with French last names, more fluid.

That's Camilla, dummy.

Camille is lovely. Camie is not. Resist the urge to shorten, Camille doesn't need to be any shorter.
